TEPIX III, managed by the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB), is being strengthened with additional resources through the recycling of funds from financial instruments under the 2014-2020 Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme.
The supplementary financing agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis, who oversees the “Competitiveness 2021-2027” programme’s managing authority, and Hellenic Development Bank Chief Executive Ismini Papakyrillou.
With the leverage provided by participating commercial banks, the additional funding is expected to offer more than 330 million euros in new loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Greece, providing fresh liquidity to the real economy.
According to the ministry, the reuse of repayments from financial instruments established under the previous EU programming period highlights the efficiency of the Hellenic Development Bank’s financing tools. Funds that previously supported businesses are being recycled to finance the next investment cycle for Greek SMEs.
The latest capital increase supports the fund’s gradual replenishment and expansion, responding to persistently strong market demand for SME financing.
