Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd., controlled by Greek shipping magnate Dr. John Coustas, has taken delivery of the M/V Santorini Express, the latest addition to its fleet.
The vessel was built at New Yangtze Shipbuilding, part of China’s Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, and is the first in the company’s series of 8,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containership orders.
Danaos said the delivery marks a significant milestone and reflects its continued commitment to investing in a modern, efficient and environmentally sustainable fleet.
Following the addition of the new vessel, the company said it is further strengthening its ability to provide reliable, high-quality shipping services to customers worldwide.
Danaos also thanked everyone involved in the project, including its shipbuilding partners, project teams, seafarers and shore-based personnel, for their contribution to the successful delivery of the vessel.
