CNBC: Former Greek FinMin Tsakalotos a candidate for IMF top spot

Former Greek finance minister Euclid Tsakalotos is reportedly included amongst the very high-profile candidate for a new managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) according to a report on Monday by CNBC.

EU ministers have repeatedly said they want a European in the IMF’s top spot, a “tradition” going back to 1945.

Christine Lagarde will step down in a few months.
