An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale was recorded at 07.43 a.m. some 64 kilometers east-southeast of the Dodecanese island of Karpathos on Monday morning.
The location is nearly 500 kilometers southeast of Athens.
No reports of damages have emerged as yet.
