Camping equipment sales up 48% in Greece in three years, Skroutz data shows

Sales of key camping-related product categories in Greece increased by 48% between 2023 and 2025, while revenue rose by 62% over the same period, according to data from e-commerce platform Skroutz.

The figures suggest that camping is becoming an increasingly popular choice among Greek consumers, with demand for outdoor equipment continuing to grow year after year, both during and beyond the summer season.

The trend is being driven by the growing popularity of activities such as hiking, mountaineering and music festivals, which are helping sustain demand for outdoor gear throughout the year.

The data also indicate that consumers are increasingly investing not only in essential camping equipment but also in complementary products aimed at enhancing the overall outdoor experience.

July remains peak month

Growth in the camping sector is particularly strong in May and August.

The upward trend continued in 2025, with sales rising a further 6% from the already elevated levels recorded a year earlier.

July consistently emerges as the strongest month for camping-related purchases, generating the highest levels of consumer interest in both searches and transactions as households prepare for summer holidays.

Demand shifts toward complementary equipment

The “camping tents” category posted strong growth in 2024, with sales increasing 31% compared with 2023. Demand remained broadly stable in 2025 at the previous year’s elevated levels.

However, much of the market’s expansion in 2025 was driven by complementary camping equipment, suggesting that consumers are increasingly focused on upgrading and improving their outdoor accommodation experience.

Among the fastest-growing categories were camping lighting products, which recorded a 15% increase in sales, followed by portable coolers with a 14% rise and inflatable sleeping mattresses, where sales grew by 6%.
