The Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) promotes the direct electronic interconnection of tax audit services with the financial system for the collection, processing and utilization of data concerning the movements of taxpayers’ bank accounts, payment accounts, prepaid cards and credit cards.
The aim of this plan, which should be implemented by the end of June 2026 at the latest, is to automatically carry out tax audits in an effort to locate concealment of income and illegal increase in assets and to take immediate measures to safeguard public revenues.
The plan of AADE essentially provides for continuous, uninterrupted access by tax audit services to data on the movements of bank accounts and payment accounts of natural and legal persons in the country, as well as to the movements of prepaid and credit cards.
The above are included in the actions and objectives of a very important project of the Independent Public Revenue Authority that has been included in the Recovery Fund and concerns the digital transformation of tax audits.
