AKTOR said it successfully completed a 300-million-euro international bond issue, which was 1.8 times oversubscribed and priced at a final yield of 7.87%.
The bond sale follows the company’s recent 650-million-euro share capital increase, which attracted an amount exceeding 2.2 billion euros, underscoring strong interest from international institutional investors in AKTOR’s growth strategy.
Combined, the two transactions provide the group with approximately 950 million euros in funding capacity, supporting the implementation of its 3.0-billion-euro investment programme through 2031.
AKTOR said the net proceeds from the bond issue will be used for general corporate purposes, primarily to fund capital expenditures and new investments.
The group is pursuing a strategy aimed at transforming AKTOR into an integrated infrastructure and energy company with a leading presence in Southeastern Europe, focusing on concessions, public-private partnership (PPP) projects, renewable energy, energy infrastructure and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Market participants attributed the successful bond issue in part to investor outreach conducted by UBS Europe, the lead arranger of the transaction, through a series of meetings with investors in Greece and abroad.
According to market sources, international investors responded positively to AKTOR’s business plan, placing particular emphasis on the group’s strategy to generate recurring cash flows from concessions, energy infrastructure and renewable energy assets.
The new financing is expected to strengthen AKTOR’s ability to execute planned investments and pursue strategic acquisitions.
The group is currently in exclusive negotiations with Motor Oil to acquire a 75% stake in HELECTOR and Thalis, a transaction expected to be completed in September. The acquisition would significantly expand AKTOR’s presence in the circular economy and waste management sectors.
