The Greek ship registry continues to meet the highest international quality standards, consistently earning recognition from the world’s leading ship inspection regimes.
In Europe, the Greek flag is assessed under the Paris Memorandum of Understanding (Paris MoU), in Asia under the Tokyo MoU, and in the United States through the U.S. Coast Guard’s QUALSHIP 21 program.
In early May 2026, the Tokyo MoU published the results of its 2025 flag state inspections, with Greece once again included among the high-performing flag administrations.
Greek-flagged vessels underwent 635 inspections and received a score of -1.12. (A negative score is required for a flag administration to qualify for the high-performance list.)
Two months later, the Paris MoU released the results of its 2025 inspection campaign. According to the findings, approved at the 59th meeting of the Paris MoU Committee, Greece retained its place on the White List, ranking 25th among the best-performing flag states in port state control inspections.
During the 2023-2025 assessment period, 544 inspections were carried out on Greek-flagged vessels, with Greece receiving a score of -0.91.
