Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion Haris Theoharis and Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) President Yiannis Bratakos signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at strengthening the Greek economy through the promotion of exports, investment and business internationalisation.
The agreement establishes a joint framework of actions designed to broaden Greece’s export base and enhance the competitiveness of Greek businesses in global markets through the development of specialised skills.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Theoharis said the memorandum demonstrated in practice that Greece was advancing, innovating and claiming a larger role in international business and investment.
He said closer cooperation between the Foreign Ministry and the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry would support the government’s strategy of economic extroversion, which he described as a key pillar of national development.
Theoharis highlighted support for Greek startups as a priority area of cooperation, saying the two sides would seek to increase the international visibility of the country’s innovation ecosystem and create new opportunities for attracting investment capital.
Bratakos said the agreement marked the beginning of a closer and more structured partnership aimed at supporting Greek entrepreneurship.
“We are joining forces to strengthen the international orientation of businesses, make use of economic diplomacy tools and create more opportunities for Greek exports, investment and innovation,” he said.
He added that the chamber would work closely with the Foreign Ministry to translate the agreement into concrete initiatives and practical support for companies seeking to expand their presence in international markets.
“The success of this cooperation will be measured by our ability to continuously create new opportunities for Greek businesses in a demanding international environment,” Bratakos stated.
