Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT) marked 16 years of operations, highlighting the contribution of its employees and partners in transforming the port of Piraeus into one of Europe’s key container transshipment hubs.

Chief Executive Chen Dong emphasised the importance of collective effort and the company’s continued development. PCT, a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Ports, has been managing piers II and III of the Piraeus Port Authority since 2009, focusing on investment, technological innovation, safety and sustainable operations.

The anniversary comes as container traffic shows signs of gradual recovery.

In May 2026, throughput reached 347,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), up 2.8% from 337,000 TEUs in the same month of 2025, marking the highest monthly performance in the past 12 months.
