Greek cosmetics market totals 1.7billion euros

The Greek cosmetics market is valued at 1.7 billion euros, according to data from the European Cosmetics Industry Association.

However, the final price of the products is what determines consumption, distribution channels, and the growth prospects of the industry.

As shown by recent Circana research on the sector, supermarkets and online pharmacies are key distribution channels. Overall, in supermarkets, the cosmetics category is valued at sales of 596 million (including physical and online stores), with an increase of 1.7% compared to 2024. Shampoos correspond to 76 million (-0.6%), deodorants to 67 million (-0.5%), shower gels to 59 million (-1.3%), toothpastes to 56 million (+3.2%) and facial care products to 47 million (+8.8%).

In online supermarkets, cosmetics sales reach 10 million euros, with a change of -1.5% compared to 2024, and Skin Care is the first with 36.8% (-1.6%). This is followed by Hair Care and Styling with 27.2% (-0.1%), Beauty Products and Sunscreens with 18.9% (-2.3%) and Oral Hygiene Products with 17.2% (-2.8%). In online supermarkets, body care corresponds to 2.4 million euros, shampoos to 1.4 million euros, deodorants to 1.3 million euros, toothpastes to 1 million euros, and facial care to 995,000 euros.
