“A new era of digital reforms in shipping has started, through initiatives that respond to the sector’s real needs and upgrade services for our seafarers,” Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Vassilis Kikilias said during the presentation of the new online platform for submitting applications for the issuance and endorsement of Certificates of Competency.

He added that the reforms are directly linked to the ministry’s broader efforts to support the maritime profession, strengthen the Greek flag and attract more young people to careers at sea.

The new application aims to reduce bureaucracy, minimize the need for seafarers to visit public services in person, accelerate application processing times, and enhance transparency and traceability throughout every stage of the procedure.
