Volos Port Authority successfully participated in Cyber Europe 2026, Europe’s largest cyber crisis simulation exercise, further strengthening its operational readiness against evolving digital threats.

The exercise, organised by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) in cooperation with the national cybersecurity authorities of EU member states, focused this year on the resilience of maritime and rail transport systems. More than 5,000 cybersecurity professionals and over 950 organisations and institutions from 27 EU countries took part.

Under the coordination of Greece’s National Cybersecurity Authority, Volos Port Authority was tasked with responding to complex cyberattack scenarios targeting critical port infrastructure, information systems and transport networks.

According to Chief Executive Socrates Anagnostou, enhancing cyber resilience is a strategic priority for the organisation, particularly as significant investments have been made in recent years to advance the port’s digital transformation and modernisation.
