Safe Bulkers, owned by Polly V. Hajioannou, expressed its warm thanks to Satoshi Iwasaki, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Cyprus, for hosting a traditional Japanese meal for the company’s team at his residence in Nicosia.
According to a post by the company’s head, Safe Bulkers’ ties with Japan – shipyards, trading houses, financial institutions and charterers – date back more than four decades and are the foundation of its long-standing success.
The company recently announced an agreement to acquire two new Kamsarmax 82,500 dwt vessels, bringing its order book to eight vessels. As stated by the company’s president, Loukas Barbaris, the investment is part of the fleet renewal strategy, aiming for increased competitiveness and high environmental performance.
