Greek unemployment rate at 11.4% in February

The number of employed people was 4,104,796 in February, down 1.3% from February 2022 and down 0.7% from January 2023.

Greek unemployment rate fell to 11.4% of the workforce in February from 13% in February 2022, but was up from a revised downwards 10.3% rate in January 2023, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.

More specifically, the number of unemployed people totaled 526,742 in February, down 94,664 from February 2022 (-15.2%) and up 53,683 (11.3%) from January 2023. The unemployment rate among women was 15.8% (16.8% in February 2022) and among men it fell to 7.8% from 9.9%, respectively. The unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group fell to 29.7% from 34.2% in February 2022, while in the 25-74 age group its fell to 10.4% from 12%, respectively.
