Naval Group Hellas, the Greek subsidiary of France’s Naval Group, has signed a framework agreement with PPC Inspectra, a subsidiary of PPC Group that provides laboratory testing, inspection and certification services.
The agreement is aimed at supporting the maintenance of the Hellenic Navy’s new FDI frigates while also contributing to the support of allied naval operations in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The two companies said the agreement marks another step in strengthening Naval Group’s cooperation with Greece, positioning PPC Inspectra as a strategic supply chain partner under Naval Group’s Hellenic Industrial Participation (HIP) programme.
Scope of the agreement
Under the agreement, PPC Inspectra will provide specialized testing and inspection services to support the maintenance of the Hellenic Navy’s FDI frigates. These include:
- Non-destructive testing (NDT)
- Cable inspections, including fibre-optic systems
- Equipment inspections using mini drones
- Mast inspections using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
PPC and Naval Group said the agreement is part of the broader implementation of the Hellenic Industrial Participation (HIP) programme.
According to the companies, Naval Group continues to expand its network of Greek industrial partners, strengthening its supply chain while creating long-term benefits for the domestic defence industry. They added that these partnerships could form the basis for broader industrial cooperation across multiple naval platforms, including surface vessels and submarines, with the potential to serve international markets.
For PPC Inspectra, the agreement represents a significant milestone. The company said it reflects confidence in its technical expertise and supports PPC Group’s broader strategy of developing advanced technical and digital capabilities to deliver critical infrastructure projects, foster industrial innovation, support the energy transition and promote sustainable development in Greece and abroad.
