COSMOTE TELEKOM said its mobile network has been named “Greece’s Fastest Mobile Network” by network testing and analytics company Ookla for the 10th consecutive year, calling it the first mobile network globally to receive the top speed ranking in its home market for a decade in a row.
Ookla, which is part of Accenture, evaluates mobile network performance using data from its testing platforms.
“The recognition has special significance for all of us at COSMOTE TELEKOM because it reflects the consistency of our long-term strategy and investments in next-generation networks,” OTE Group Chief Technology Officer George Tsonis said in a statement.
He added that awards received from internationally recognized independent network measurement and analytics organizations over the years confirmed that the company operates Greece’s leading mobile network.
“Our goal is for customers to enjoy a best-in-class connectivity experience, with high speeds, broad coverage and reliable communications wherever they are,” Tsonis said.
Ookla Chief Executive Stephen Bye said that being recognized as the fastest mobile network in a country for 10 consecutive years was an unprecedented achievement in the global telecommunications industry.
“By reaching this remarkable milestone, COSMOTE TELEKOM has demonstrated that it is the clear leader in mobile network performance in Greece,” Bye said in the statement.
