The Hellenic Centre for Defence Innovation (HCDI) has taken another step toward facilitating access for Greek innovative defence companies to the European investment community through a partnership with Bpifrance, the French public investment bank, and its official membership in the European Defence Alliance network.
This collaboration creates the conditions for the Greek defence innovation ecosystem to connect with the broader European investor and capital network, specifically through the EuroQuity online platform, one of Europe’s largest business-to-investor platforms. EuroQuity is closely linked to the European Defence Alliance, a collaborative network established by Bpifrance. The platform comprises more than 50,000 members across Europe, including scale-ups, angel investors, venture capital funds, accelerators, support networks, as well as national and European funding institutions.
Its primary objective is to bring together European companies, investors, startups, industrial stakeholders and public-sector organizations operating in the defence sector, thereby fostering collaboration, innovation and access to funding in the defence and security domains.
According to Pantelis Tzortzakis, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of HCDI, “we are consistently developing a comprehensive support framework for the country’s innovative companies, aiming to enable their access to investors, capital and international markets, regardless of their size or stage of development. Joining EuroQuity is part of this strategic direction, removing barriers and creating direct bridges between Greek innovation and European investment interest. Our partnership with Bpifrance further enhances the visibility of the Greek ecosystem in the French and broader European markets, opening new channels for cross-border collaboration and financing.”
Pitch Arena Generates 101.45 Million Funding Demand from Greek Defence Innovators
At the beginning of 2026, HCDI launched its Pitch Arena initiative for companies mapped within the dual-use technology ecosystem, with the objective of establishing a structured and recurring mechanism linking Greek startups with the domestic investment community.
More specifically, the initiative provided over 45 Greek startups with the opportunity to present their innovations to 22 venture capital funds. Participating companies sought aggregate funding exceeding 101.45 million euros, highlighting the dynamism and growth potential of Greece’s defence innovation ecosystem.
Investor interest proved particularly strong, as reflected in 94 requests for additional information and direct engagement with participating companies, confirming that the connections established through the initiative can serve as the foundation for future financing rounds and strategic partnerships.
More than 60 hours of tailored mentoring sessions and pitch dry-runs were delivered, contributing significantly to improving both the quality of presentations and the investment readiness of participating companies.
EuroQuity and the Greek Defence Ecosystem
Following the new partnership between HCDI and Bpifrance, Greek innovative companies will be able to further expand their reach through free registration and the creation of corporate profiles on the EuroQuity platform, benefiting from enhanced visibility among investors and partners across Europe and direct access to venture capital funds, business angels and strategic investors active in European markets.
Companies will also gain access to collaboration opportunities with businesses in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and other European countries, as well as participation in exclusive e-pitching sessions organized for members of the European Defence Alliance and targeted at investors, industrial stakeholders and international defence and dual-use technology partners.
In addition, participants will have access to monthly online knowledge-sharing sessions covering topics such as defence-sector investment, scaling defence technologies, regulatory frameworks and access to international markets. They will also benefit from matchmaking and pitching opportunities with industrial partners and military end-users from France, Germany, Spain, Italy and other European countries.
