Allwyn and Novibet have agreed to jointly cancel the previously announced deal involving the acquisition of Novibet by Allwyn.
Specifically, as highlighted in the Allwyn announcement, Allwyn and Logflex MT Holding Limited, owner of the online sports betting and gaming group Novibet, have jointly decided to withdraw their previously announced transaction in light of the feedback received from the Hellenic Competition Commission, while they had submitted carefully considered proposals.
On its part, Novibet confirmed that, following the developments during the evaluation process by the Hellenic Competition Commission, the two parties have jointly decided to withdraw their previously announced deal. This decision was taken after a comprehensive evaluation of the data of the process, with the main objective of creating and ensuring the maximum possible value for the company’s shareholders and investors.
It should be noted that in December 2025, the competent rapporteur of the Competition Commission had taken a negative position regarding the acquisition by Allwyn of sole control over Novibet.
According to the Commission’s recommendation, “the implementation of the concentration may lead to a significant impediment of effective competition in the horizontally affected markets of online betting and online casino games (except poker) due to horizontal effects of uncoordinated behavior, by strengthening the dominant position of Allwyn, and in any case by eliminating the competitive pressures currently exerted in these oligopolistic markets, in particular due to the elimination of Novibet as a significant competitive factor”.
