One of the longest voyages in the history of LNG trade was made by the “Maran Gas Hector”, owned by Maran Gas Maritime, a member of the Angelicoussis Group under the leadership of Maria Angelicoussis.
The LNG carrier traveled more than 25,000 kilometers (16,000 nautical miles) from Australia to the Saint John terminal in New Brunswick, transporting the first cargo of Australian LNG to the East Coast of Canada.
According to data from the local port authorities, the ship sailed into Port Saint John, marking an unusual energy route for a country rich in natural gas.
The voyage highlights the peculiarities of the global LNG market, where trade flows are determined by infrastructure, contracts and geographical constraints.
