OPAP’s management is advancing the business combination with Alwyn. According to Jan Karas, CEO of OPAP, “the transaction is expected to be completed within the second quarter of 2026”.
Allwyn will distribute to shareholders 0.80 euros per share upon completion of the transaction, in addition to the interim dividend of 0.50 euros per share paid last November. In this context, Karas spoke of “a new era, the Allwyn era, that has begun and we look forward to a new chapter of growth, which will be fueled by leading innovations, unique entertainment experiences and our strong commitment to social contribution”.
Commenting on the 2025 financial results, Karas noted that “the 2025 financial year was particularly successful for OPAP and the results were mainly driven by the excellent performance of JOKER, the dynamic growth of KINO and the continued expansion of iGaming activities. In addition, at the end of the year, online activities contributed 32% of OPAP’s GGR – the highest percentage in the last four quarters – while the momentum of our iLottery portfolio continued to strengthen. Also, the most important developments of the fourth quarter of 2025 include the strong performance of VLTs and the remarkable growth of PowerSpin, which recorded an increase of 27%.
In detail, the company recorded a new record in terms of GGR, i.e. gross gaming revenue (GGR), reaching 2.407 billion euros, up 4.9% year-on-year, driven by strong growth in both online and retail. Gross profit (from games) increased by 5.1% to 1.018 billion euros year-on-year in 2025. EBITDA fell by 0.9% to 824.6 million euros. Net profit stood at 483.4 million euros, down 0.5% year-on-year.
