Qualco S.A., together with Engineering International Belgium (ENG Group), as lead partner, has signed a five-year contract with the European Parliament for testing and quality assurance of digital solutions in key European institutions.
This is the “Provision of Testing and Quality Assurance of IT Solutions” contract, which was issued by the European Parliament and is represented by the Directorate-General for Innovation and Technological Support (DG ITEC).
With a duration of five years and a budget of 32.234 million euros, the contract covers a wide range of testing and quality assurance services for the information systems used by the European Parliament, as well as the following European Union institutions:
- European Ombudsman
- European Court of Auditors
- European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction
- European Economic and Social Committee
- European Committee of the Regions
- Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union
In particular, the contract covers technical consultancy, planning, coordination and implementation of testing and quality assurance tasks, both for custom applications and for commercially available software.
It includes, among others:
- Technical consultancy for the evolution of technology and standards, methodologies, products and solutions, with emphasis on ergonomics, ecological footprint, availability, scalability, maintainability and compatibility
- System integration, functional characteristics, user acceptance and accessibility testing
- Security assessment and test automation
- Platform compatibility and ergonomic parameters assessment
- Verification of compliance with European standards and functional requirements
- Contribution to market research and hardware and software quality checks
- Support for mobile, cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments
Based on this contract, Qualco is expected to actively contribute to enhancing the performance, security, resilience and user experience of digital solutions used by key European Union entities.
