Hellenic Cables: New project for the BC-Wind offshore wind project in Poland

Hellenic Cables has been awarded a contract by DEME for the supply of inter-array cables for the BC-Wind offshore wind project in Poland.

The BC-Wind project, being built by Ocean Winds, a 50/50 joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE, which develops offshore wind farms internationally, is located approximately 23 km off the coast of Poland in the Baltic Sea.

The wind farm has a planned installed capacity of up to 390 MW, 26 wind turbines in total and once operational will provide clean electricity to around half a million households per year.

Under the contract, Hellenic Cables will be responsible for the design, engineering, production, testing and supply of approximately 70 km of 66kV inter-array submarine cables, including spares, as well as the supply of their related components.

In Corinth

The cables will be produced at Hellenic Cables’ state-of-the-art submarine cable production plant in Corinth which is expected to be completed at the end of 2027.
