Anna Angelicousis’ group is expanding its shipbuilding program. Following the order for two LNG carriers in South Korea, on behalf of Alpha Gas, which manages the group’s liquefied natural gas carriers, and the 11 feeder containerships on behalf of Alpha Bulkers, which manages dry cargo ships, the group ordered two Suezmax tankers.
In particular, Pantheon Tankers, according to platforms that record shipbuilding, has ordered two tankers with a carrying capacity of 157,000 tons at COSCO’s Yangzhou shipyards in China. The two ships are dual fuel.
The company currently has 42 tankers at sea while it is building six more.
It is noted that Alpha Fas recently placed an order for two ultra-modern LNG carriers in South Korea. In total, the company has eight LNG carriers under its management, while it is building six more. Two of them will be delivered this year, while the rest will be delivered gradually until 2029.
The group also made an impressive opening in containerships at the end of 2025. Alpha Bulkers, the dry cargo arm of the group, signed agreements with three Chinese groups for the construction of 11 containerships, with a carrying capacity of 1,900, 3,100 and 4,500 TEUs.
Specifically, the company, which manages a fleet of 34 bulk carriers, will build three of 1,900 TEUs at Chang Bo Shipyard, four of 3,100 TEUs at the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Guangdong shipyard, and another one of 4,500 TEUs at Yantai CIMC Raffles.
