Gianluigi Aponte’s MSC has announced a further enhancement of its NWC UK service to and from Greece and Turkey, with the aim of improving the reliability of its routes and providing better scheduling for customers.
According to the announcement, “in order to improve schedule frequency and reliability, MSC is pleased to announce that it is investing in additional capacity and introducing a revised port rotation for its NWC UK to / from Greece and Türkiye Service.
The revised port sequence avoids current port congestion, while also enhancing connectivity, improving service coverage for customers, and strengthening our service commitment across the rotation.”
The upgraded service is based on additional capacity and a carefully designed circular approach to ports, to ensure it remains resilient even in times of congestion. The first ship on the revamped service, MSC Santa Maria, departed Liverpool on 4 February 2026.
The move is part of MSC’s overall growth strategy, which remains the world’s largest liner company. In 2025, it increased its capacity by 11.7%, adding 54 newbuildings and further extending its lead over the competition.
