“To all our partners in Greece and in the United States, Happy New Year!” the US Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, said in a post on X marking the New Year.
“2026 will be a year of celebration and renewed commitment to the shared democratic values that unite us: freedom, liberty, and opportunity. May our alliance shine even brighter in the year to come,” she noted.
As she noted, she has been working hard from the beginning to implement the vision and priorities of her dear friend, President Donald Trump, in Greece.
And impressive results have been. “The United States-Greece relationship has never been stronger than it is today, and it is growing stronger every day.
In just the past two months, we have signed historic agreements on LNG, launched groundbreaking innovation initiatives, and strengthened our cooperation in the areas of energy, trade, defense, education, culture, and shipping.”
Greece has welcomed a number of United States’ secretaries to Greece, upgraded the cooperation to the 3+1 format, and signed the U.S.-Greece Economic Security Declaration.
Next year, the United States will celebrate 250 years of independence. And to commemorate this anniversary from here, in Greece, the birthplace of democracy, is a special honor, she noted.
