EFA Group is entering a new era, aiming to create a strong Greek group of dual-use defense companies with an international footprint and at the same time its dynamic contribution to building a collaborative Greek defense industry.
As emphasized by Christian Hadjiminas, founder of EFA Group, the entry of Motor Oil, through its subsidiary IREON Ventures and EOS Capital Partners through the 2nd Growth Fund, EOS HELLENIC RENAISSANCE FUND II) into EFA’s share capital in the context of an increase in its share capital by 80 million euros, with the possibility of leveraging investment capital of up to 120 million euros, is a pivotal moment in its 30-year history.
The new institutional partners strengthen EFA’s growth potential, expand its portfolio and support the vision for innovative technological superiority at a global level. The new investment funds will be directed to acquisitions in Greece and abroad and to development. Nikos Giannakakis, Group Chief Information Officer of Motor Oil Group, spoke about a strategic investment that is part of the long-term plan of the Motor Oil Group to systematically enhance its technological capabilities.
Οn his part, Nikolas Chrysanthopoulos, Senior Partner of EOS Capital Partners, noted that this is “a vote of confidence in a truly extroverted Greek group of companies, which has the DNA of innovation and development in each of its companies.”
Collaboration
Commenting on the current situation in the defense sector, Hadjiminas highlighted the importance of collaboration between Greek defense companies, proposing specific examples that can create corporate and national surplus value, leaving behind the negative cases of market distortion by shell companies or representatives of companies that acted as a deterrent to real investments in the Greek defense sector.
Citing a positive example of the modern Greek defense industry, Hadjiminas made special mention of Greek companies in the sector. He pointed out that Theon is a case study of a productive, extroverted Greek defense industry, with exports estimated to exceed 3 billion euros in the next three years and a turnover of around 1 billion euros, with production units in Greece and abroad.
Following the positive examples of the market, EFA Group, after the investment support of its new partners, will lay the foundation for the development of advanced systems that meet the most demanding operational needs of the international market, strengthening the country’s technological superiority and global competitiveness.
