Global Ship Lease (GSL), owned by George Giouroukos, confirmed its dynamic course in a volatile market with strong revenue and net profit growth.

With low leverage, high liquidity and almost full charter coverage for the next two years, the company pointed the way to an equally dynamic 2026.

Despite geopolitical uncertainty and supply chain challenges, the company reported third-quarter operating income of 192.7 million euros, up 10.7% year-over-year, and net income of 92.6 million euros, up 17.5% from 2024.

For the nine months, operating income stood at 575.5 million euros, up 8.9%, while net income was 306.7 million, with earnings per share of 8.60, up nearly 20%.

Accordingly, adjusted EBITDA reached 396.7 million, confirming the company’s operational robustness and ability to generate strong cash flows.

Contracts of 778 million dollars

One of the most impressive figures of the year is the addition of contracts of 778 million dollars, with the total contract balance now standing at 1.92 billion and an average duration of 2.5 years.

This portfolio offers stability and revenue predictability, while already covering 100% of the fleet for 2025 and almost the entire 2026, as underlined by the executive chairman of the listed company, George Giouroukos.

“In an environment of intense uncertainty, the flexibility of the fleet and the discipline in balance sheet management proved to be our strongest weapons,” said Giouroukos.

“The market for medium and smaller containerships remains extremely healthy, as geopolitical instability and new trade policies increase the demand for flexible tonnage.”
