This year’s operating profitability is expected to approach 1.2 billion euros against a target of 1.1 billion euros, its president and CEO, Giorgos Stassis, said during a presentation held at the general shareholders’ meeting.
Stassis also announced the distribution of a dividend in 2024 and the completion of the acquisition of ENEL Romania in the third quarter of the year.
Shareholders voted in favour of the management’s proposals with a percentage of more than 98.8%.
The head of PPC stated that the acquisition of ENEL Romania is expected to be completed in the third quarter (i.e. by September), describing it as a milestone for the company’s development strategy. It is, as he said, an ideal choice from a geographical and economic point of view.
Stassis reiterated the commitment to phase out power generation from lignite coal despite the temporary delays for reasons of energy security and concluded: “Despite the energy crisis we are moving steadily towards the implementation of our strategic plan. The road is green, digital and customer-oriented.”
