Atlantic SEE LNG Trade, the joint venture between the AKTOR Group and DEPA Commercial, secured a capacity of 13,000 MWh/day in the auctions for the 2026-2027 gas year held on the Vertical Gas Corridor, which corresponds to approximately 4.7 TWh on an annual basis.

The move is seen as a clear indication that the joint venture intends to pursue short-term agreements to supply the region with U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG), making use of the Vertical Gas Corridor before 2030.

The consortium’s participation in the auction process is also viewed as a positive signal for the further enhancement of the corridor’s commercial attractiveness and operational efficiency. The Vertical Gas
Corridor is regarded as a key energy infrastructure route for transporting natural gas from southern entry points to markets across the wider region.

The joint venture’s strategic plans were outlined in detail during a recent press conference by Atlantic SEE LNG Trade Chief Executive Officer Alexandros Exarchou and Chairman Konstantinos Xifaras, who highlighted the role the new venture could play in the regional natural gas market.
