The meeting of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Ports Association (ELIME) was held in Patras at the premises of the Patras Port Authority, in the presence of the members of the Association and representatives of port organizations from all over the country.

The meeting examined important issues concerning the strengthening of cooperation between Greek ports, the promotion of joint extroversion actions and the formulation of a comprehensive plan for the further development of the port sector.

The discussions were held in a particularly positive and creative atmosphere, confirming the will of the members of the Association to work in a coordinated manner to strengthen the competitiveness of Greek ports at an international level.

The active presence and coordinating role of the ELIME leadership were confirmed the following day, with the participation of the President of the Association, Panagiotis Anastasopoulos, and the Vice President of ELIME and Deputy CEO of the Piraeus Port Authority, Panagiotis Tsonis, in the conference on the development of the cruise industry, which took place in Katakolo, Pyrgos.

During his speech, Anastasopoulos highlighted the strategic importance of the cruise industry for the development of local economies, noting that shipping and ports can be key pillars of development, cooperation and extroversion for the entire country.

He also placed particular emphasis on the broader role of the sea and ports as meeting places for cultures and people, noting that cruising can function as a bridge of communication between peoples and as a lever for development for local communities.
