CSG Group will acquire a 49% stake in the Hungarian 4iG Space & Defence Technologies, thus making it an indirect shareholder with 37% in the also Hungarian Rába Automotive Holding Plc., which confirms CSG Group’s ambition to become a long-term strategic partner of the Hungarian defense industry.

As stated by Michal Strnad, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CSG Group, “the group is currently one of the fastest growing in the defense industry. We rely on growth within the group, strong production capacity and the ability to quickly scale up production in key areas – from land systems and ammunition to complex platforms. Our goal is to bring this experience to Hungary. Combined with Rába’s industrial heritage and the strategic support of the 4iG group, we can significantly improve the production capacity, technological superiority and export potential of both the Hungarian and European defense industry.”

4iG, in which CSG is a partner, announced the signing of a framework agreement with the Hungarian state for the delivery of up to several thousand heavy tactical vehicles for the Hungarian Armed Forces, with CSG participating in the program. At the same time, the parties declared their intention to proceed immediately with the order of the first few hundred vehicles. A significant part of the production and assembly will take place in Hungary in cooperation with Rába Automotive Holding, contributing to the strengthening of local production capacity.

At the same time, CSG is introducing a new export program for Rába Automotive Holding, which concerns medium-sized tactical vehicles worth one billion euros. At the same time, the Hungarian state has expressed interest in acquiring HIMARS systems for the Hungarian Armed Forces, which will be integrated into Rába’s Tatra chassis. For the CSG group, this is a significant opportunity to deepen transatlantic industrial cooperation and strengthen its participation in global supply chains. It should be noted that the initial investments also include signed contracts for the production and delivery of thousands of military vehicles, as well as a potential participation in the HIMARS program for Hungary.
