Performance Shipping Inc. (PSHG), owned by Aliki Paliou, is further strengthening its fleet by signing two contracts for the construction of 158,000 dwt Suezmax tankers.
The agreements were signed, through two of its subsidiaries, with China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd. (CSTC) and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. (SWS).
The delivery of the ships is scheduled for October 2028 and May 2029, respectively, at a price of 81.5 million dollars per ship. 15% is paid upon receipt of the money-back guarantee, 10% at each key stage of construction and the remaining 55% upon delivery.
CEO Andreas Michalopoulos said that “the signing of these two contracts for the construction of new Suezmax vessels expands the presence in a sector with positive medium and long-term fundamental market conditions.
