Exports of the clothing and textile chain recorded a 7.2% drop in 2025, according to data from the Association of Knitting and Ready-Made Garment Enterprises of Greece (SEPEE).

Specifically, the total value of Greek clothing and textile exports amounted to 1.54 billion euros in 2025, compared to 1.66 billion euros in 2024.

As the Association noted, the continued stagnation of clothing consumption due to inflation in most markets, but also due to changes in consumer behavior, has significantly affected the course of exports over the last three years.

In detail:

Clothing exports in 2025 amounted to 780 million euros, recording a small increase of 1%.
Last year, exports of woven garments exceeded exports of knitted garments in value for the first time in the long history of the sector.

Textile exports amounted to 425 million, recording a decrease of 4.5%. Cotton exports recorded a significant decrease of 25%, mainly due to the decrease in prices and amounted to 338 million euros.
It is noted that 75% of the value of clothing exports is directed to European Union countries. The corresponding percentage for the textile industry is 68% and for cotton 7%.

Imports on the rise

According to data from SEPEE, a small increase of 3.2% was recorded in imports in 2025. The value of imports of the clothing – textile chain amounted to 3.17 billion in 2025, compared to 3.07 billion in 2024.
