The Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, whose president is George Alexandratos, characterizes the upgrading of port infrastructure as a key step for strengthening the competitiveness of the Greek economy and the country’s interconnectivity.

As reported by the Chamber, the upgrading of the Port of Patras is part of the overall strategy for the modernization of Greek ports, following the approval of the Master Plan by the Council of State.

The plan foresees significant projects in the coming years, strengthening the role of Patras as a combined transport hub and gateway to the European interior. At the same time, it includes interventions in transport, energy and maritime tourism, as well as the development of the cruise industry and the new Patradise Mega Yacht Marina.

According to the Chamber, these investments are expected to substantially upgrade the operation of the port and enhance the extroversion of the wider region.
