Pantheon Tanker, a company of the Anna Angelicoussis Group, is rapidly expanding its shipbuilding program.

The arm that manages the group’s tankers has agreed with the Chinese shipbuilding group Hengli Heavy Industry for the construction of four VLCCs, with a capacity of approximately 306,000 dwt.

Earlier, the company also ordered two Suezmax, approximately 157,000 dwt, from COSCO’s Yangzhou shipyards in China, with dual-fuel propulsion, confirming the strategic shift towards more efficient and “greener” ships.

Recently, the group has shown particular activity in new shipbuilding. Alpha Gas, the company that manages the group’s LNG carriers, signed for the construction of two LNG carriers in South Korea, while Alpha Bulkers signed for 11 feeder containerships at various shipyards in China.
