Passenger traffic at the Athens International Airport “El. Venizelos” increased by 8.6% in January compared to the same month in 2025.
According to statistics from Athens International Airport (AIA), travelers in January amounted to 1.99 million.
Based on the same data, both domestic and international passenger traffic exceeded 2025 levels by 7.1% and 9.2% respectively.
Increase in flights
The number of flights at the Athens International Airport amounted to 17,748 in January, recording an increase of 7.3% compared to 2025.
Both domestic and international flights increased by 7.6% and 7.1%, respectively.
