DIAS system recorded a historic high in the number of transactions since the beginning of its operation in 2025, while direct payments via IRIS recorded an explosive increase, with 2026 expected to be a better year in view of the new measures.
Transactions to professionals via IRIS increased by +197% on an annual basis in 2025.
Historic high
According to DIAS announcement, during 2025, 540.4 million transactions were carried out through the DIAS Payment System, an increase of 15.7% on an annual basis, while their total value amounted to 544.4 billion euros, recording a new historic high in the company’s 36 years of operation. Of the total transactions, 126.4 million transactions, worth 10.9 billion euros, concern the products of the IRIS service.
In fact, the average daily activity amounted to 2.2 million transactions worth 2.2 billion euros, while on November 24, 2025, a daily record of 6 million transactions worth 3.5 billion euros was recorded, confirming the resilience and dynamics of DIAS’s infrastructure.
Direct Payments & IRIS
IRIS recorded spectacular numbers in 2025, which are expected to grow further in 2026, as from January 15, transaction limits are increased, providing greater flexibility to individuals and professionals.
Direct payments amounted to 122.1 million transactions in 2025, recording an increase of 72.8% compared to 2024 and now representing 27% of all credit transfers.
