Greece’s unemployment falls to 8.2% in November

Greece’s unemployment fell to 8.2% in November, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

More specifically, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 8.2% in November 2025, compared to the upwardly revised 9.7% in November 2024 and 8.6% in October 2025.

395,436 unemployed

The number of unemployed people decreased to 395,436 people, down 62,458 people compared to November 2024 (13.6%) and down 13,900 people compared to October 2025 (3.4%).

For women, the unemployment rate rose to 10.6% from 12.3% in November 2024 and for men to 6.3% from 7.5%.

By large age groups, in the 15-24 year old group the unemployment rate rose to 16.6% from 21.2% in November 2024 and in the 25-74 year old group to 7.7% from 9%.

Increase in the number of employed

According to the ELSTAT labor force survey, the number of employed persons amounted to 4,406,148 people, recording an increase of 121,939 people compared to November 2024 (2.8%) and an increase of 38,600 people compared to October 2025 (0.9%).

Meanwhile, people under 75 years of age who are not included in the labor force, or “people outside the labor force” (i.e. people who are neither working nor looking for work), amounted to 2,937,797 people, recording a decrease of 86,848 people compared to November 2024 (2.9%) and a decrease of 26,982 people compared to October 2025 (0.9%).
