A framework agreement of strategic importance was signed on November 21, 2025, at the Embassy of Indonesia in Athens, between the Greek company SCYTALYS (member of EFA GROUP) and the Indonesian company PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI).
The Agreement includes the cooperation of the two companies for the development of PTDI’s twin-engine N219 aircraft into a Maritime Surveillance aircraft, with the aim of strengthening the operational capabilities of the Indonesian Coast Guard (Badan Keamanan Laut Republik Indonesia – Bakamla RI).
The main contractor in the N219 MSA (Maritime Surveillance Aircraft) development program is the aircraft manufacturer, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), while SCYTALYS undertakes the installation and integration of the sensors, communications, data link network (Data Link) and the Tactical Mission System (MIMS Airborne) developed by the Greek company on the N219 aircraft.
The duration of the development program is set at one year, while the Indonesian Coast Guard has already submitted a request to the Ministry of National Development Planning for the initial supply of 4 N219 MSA aircraft. As stated by George Menexis, CEO of SCYTALYS, “the Framework Agreement marks the beginning of a new chapter of expanded cooperation, further strengthening Greece-Indonesia ties and creating strong growth prospects in the defense industry sector between the two countries.”
MIMS Airborne was designed and developed by SCYTALYS and is an advanced Command and Control (C2) system that integrates all critical aircraft systems/subsystems – radar, electro-optical, anti-submarine sensors, electronic warfare systems, avionics and communications – into a single Common Operational Picture (COP).
In this way, MIMS Airborne transforms the aircraft into a network-centric Naval Operations hub, multiplying its operational value and offering a strong advantage to the user in environments of high operational demands.
According to the company, this particular MIMS Airborne system could be the Greek solution for upgrading the operational capacity of the Hellenic Coast Guard for the purposes of surveillance, policing, search and rescue, prevention and suppression of any illegal action taking place in the Greek marine environment.
