A 80-year-old shepherd died on Monday at a wildfire that broke out in Prodromos, Boeotia region.
According to sources, the shepherd died from the fumes when he attempted to save his sheep.
The fire, which according to the mayor of Thebes started from works near the village Prodromos, is out of control as winds of 9 Beaufort are blowing in the area.
A message was sent via the emergency number 112 to residents to evacuate the village.
