The Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) hosted students from the Shanghai Maritime University as part of a summer school programme held under a memorandum of cooperation with the Athens University of Economics and Business, specifically its MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management.
According to a PPA statement, the visit formed part of a programme combining academic study with experience into companies and organisations operating in the maritime sector.
Participants had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the operations of one of the Mediterranean’s largest ports and connect classroom learning with practical experience.
The initiative also strengthens educational cooperation between Greece and China in the maritime sector, the port authority said.
