The Hellenic Chamber of Shipping is closely monitoring international developments regarding the decarbonization of shipping, amid accelerating initiatives for the sector’s energy transition.
In this context, a meeting was held at the Chamber’s headquarters with the President of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA), Konstantinos Kapetanakis, and its Managing Director, Alexander Prokopakis. Representing the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping were President Georgios S. Alexandratos, Vice President Georgios Gavriil, Executive Committee Member Spyros Paschalis, Board Members Georgios A. Vernicos, Panos Zachariadis and Ioannis Tryfis, along with senior Chamber officials.
Discussions focused on the availability of alternative fuels and the Net Zero framework. Particular emphasis was placed on the prospects for strengthening cooperation between the two sides, with a view to enhancing their presence at the IMO and in international fora.
