The Ship Energy Efficiency 2026 conference was hosted in Athens this year, marking a first-of-its-kind event that brought together shipowners, technology providers and shipbuilders with the aim of exchanging practical solutions to improve vessel energy efficiency.
The focus was on real-world projects, evidence-based solutions and data demonstrating how fuel consumption, emissions and the overall energy footprint can be reduced.
The conference was opened by Dimitris Fafalios, head of Fafalios Shipping S.A. and Chairman of INTERCARGO, who underscored the importance of collaboration and innovation in accelerating meaningful improvements.
INTERCARGO also expressed its appreciation to RINA for providing its members with the opportunity to share operational experience, challenges, best practices and actionable pathways delivering tangible benefits for the shipping industry.
