Atlas Maritime, owned by Leo Patitsas, is making a strong return to the Suezmax market, ordering two newbuilding tankers from DH Shipbuilding of South Korea, with an option for two more.
According to market sources, the value of each ship is estimated at 86 million dollars, with deliveries scheduled for the third quarter of 2028. The new investment comes after the successful resale of two 157,000 dwt Suezmax under construction to Okeanis Eco Tankers, for approximately 97 million each, in cooperation with European Maritime Finance.
The first ship in the series, the “Geneva Star”, has already been delivered and chartered for one year, while the remaining seven Suezmax are expected to join the fleet in the next 17 months.
