ELSTAT: Inflation at 2.4% in November – Increases in rents, meat, coffee, chocolates

Inflation stood at 2.4% in November 2025, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced.

According to ELSTAT, the comparison of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November 2025 with the corresponding Index in November 2024 resulted in an increase of 2.4%.

The General CPI in November 2025, compared to October 2025, showed an increase of 0.1%, compared to a decrease of 0.4%, which occurred during the corresponding comparison of the previous year.

The average CPI in December 2024 – November 2025, compared to the corresponding Index for the twelve-month period December 2023 – November 2024, showed an increase of 2.5%, compared to an increase of 2.8% that occurred during the corresponding comparison of the twelve-month period December 2023 – November 2024 with the twelve-month period December 2022 – November 2023.

According to ELSTAT data, price increases of 22.9% were recorded for chocolates, 20.7% for coffee and 13% for meat. At the same time, rents increased by 8.6% compared to November 2024.

The increase in the CPI by 2.4% in November 2025, compared to the corresponding Index of November 2024, came mainly from changes in the following groups of goods and services:

• 2.7% in the group food and non-alcoholic beverages, due mainly to an increase in prices in: bread and cereals, meat (general), fresh fish, dairy products and eggs, fruit (general), chocolates-chocolate products, confectionery products, coffee.
• 1.7% in the alcoholic beverages and tobacco group, due mainly to an increase in prices of: alcoholic beverages (not served), cigarettes.
• 1.3% in the clothing and footwear group, due to an increase in prices of clothing and footwear.
• 3.7% in the housing group, due mainly to an increase in prices of: house rents, house repairs and maintenance, home-related services, electricity. Part of this increase was offset by the decrease mainly in prices of: natural gas, heating oil.
• 0.5% in the durable goods-household goods and services group, due mainly to an increase in prices of: household goods, household services. Part of this increase was offset by the decrease mainly in prices of household appliances and repairs.
• 0.6% in the health group, due mainly to an increase in prices of: medical-dental and paramedical services, hospital care. Part of this increase was offset by the decrease mainly in prices of pharmaceutical products.
• 0.7% in the transport group.
