The decarbonization of European shipping and the need to ensure its international competitiveness were discussed at the meeting between the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Vassilis Kikilias, and the Danish Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, Morten Bodskov, in view of the upcoming Transport Council of the European Union.
The Greek minister thanked his Danish counterpart for the frank and substantive exchange of views, stressing that EU decisions must be taken with the well-being of citizens in mind.
He pointed out that shipping policies must be consistent with Europe’s commitments to reduce inflation, energy costs and commodity prices. The two ministers agreed to keep channels of communication open.
