However, almost all traders pointed out that this year the average prices of electrical and electronic goods were lower compared to last year, which allowed for better offers.
As industry executives emphasized to “N”, during this year’s Black Friday, among the individual product categories in the industry, the sales rate of white goods (washing machines, refrigerators) and televisions was satisfactory.
On the other hand, small appliances moved lower than expectations, with the exception of Stick vacuum cleaners which were in greater demand.
Demand for air conditioners was also sluggish, which is particularly troubling for organized chains, which had bet heavily on this discount period in order to cover the losses in air conditioner sales during the summer months.
Based on the data so far, retailers not only failed to cover the losses of previous months in the air conditioner market, but also missed an opportunity to improve their profitability, since this specific product category has a high profit margin compared to other products.
Demand for mobile telephony and telecommunications items was mixed or even negative.
Merchants will make their final checkout before the end of the week, as they wait to see how sales will go during Cyber Monday.
Meanwhile, the electronic channel has momentum and it has established itself as the dominant way of shopping in Greece and usually offers attractive offers.
