The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Vassilis Kikilias, had a private meeting with the Deputy Minister of Transport of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, on the sidelines of the 34th session of the IMO Assembly in London.

The discussion confirmed the substantial upgrading of relations between Greece and Saudi Arabia in recent years, through successive, high-level contacts and the strengthening of the strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The main topic was the traditional mutual support of the candidacies in the IMO. Particular emphasis was given to the preservation of maritime security in the Red Sea.

The two sides expressed their common will to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of shipping, ports and cruises, paving the way for new development steps.
