Growthfund: OPAP named preferred investor in the State Lotteries’ tender

The Growthfund announced that “OPAP Investment Limited” is the preferred investor in the tender for the concession of the exclusive right to produce, manage, operate, promote and leverage the State Lotteries.

According to the announcement, its board of directors requested an improved financial offer from “OPAP Investment Limited”, which it accepted.

The consideration for the concession of the exclusive right to State Lotteries, for a period of 12 years, amounts to 80 million euros and will be paid one-off. Additionally, it is provided that 30% of the Gross Gaming Revenues from State Lotteries will be paid to the Greek State per year, with a minimum annual payment of 20 million euros.   .

In a statement, the Deputy CEO of the Growthfund, Panagiotis Stampoulidis, said: “The Growthfund completed the tender for the concession of the State Lotteries for 12 years with transparency and speed, at a satisfactory price and ensuring the interests of the Greek State. We are convinced that the declaration of Opap Investment Limited as Preferred Investor, with its extensive experience in the gambling market, guarantees the continuity of the State Lottery institution, through which important social actions are financed.”

On his part, Jan Karas, Chairman and CEO of OPAP, stated: “We are pleased with the successful outcome of the tender.
